Job Position: Packaging Operations Technical Lead

Responsibilities

● This person will lead the day-to-day operations of the packaging team.

● This person will provide technical and manual support to ensure that packaging lines run efficiently.

● Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all packaging specifications are met.

● Ensure product quality meets Barrel Brothers or Contract Client specifications.

● Trains new staff in the safe operation of packaging equipment.

● Develops and maintains SOPs for safety, and ensures all record-keeping, SOPs, and logs are accurate and up-to-date.

● Responsible for keeping packaging equipment running to its full potential with a minimum amount of downtime.

● Performing repairs and maintenance on equipment.

● Assist in developing a preventative maintenance program on all equipment and utilities.

● Ability to track packaging inventory as needed.

● Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

● Experience with canning lines and ancillary equipment is a must.

● Experience managing 1-2 direct reports is a must.

● The ability to be flexible and handle multiple tasks in a high-stress environment.

● Mechanical aptitude and technical abilities are required.

● Excellent verbal communication skills.

● Ability to operate according to established procedures.

● Detail-oriented with superior organizational and time management skills.

● The candidate must be able to stand for extended periods, reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

● The position also requires that the candidate move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds with or without assistance.

● Passion for innovative craft beer/beverages a plus.

This position reports to Director of Operations and packaging manager and has responsibility for contributing to the day-to-day operations of the Packaging Department as well as keeping up with other daily objectives of the production team. This is an intermediate level position with significant growth potential within the packaging department.
