Job Position: Packaging Operator
Responsibilities
● This position will work with the packaging manager to successfully fill and pack out cans and kegs of beer
● This person will provide technical and manual support to ensure that packaging lines run efficiently
● Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all packaging specifications are hit.
● Ensure product quality meets company requirements
● Trains new staff in safe operation of packaging equipment
● Develops and maintains SOPs for safety, and ensures all record keeping, SOPs, and logs are accurate and up to date
● Responsible for keeping packaging equipment running to its full potential with a minimum amount of downtime.
● Performing basic mechanical repairs and maintenance on equipment
● Assist in developing a preventative maintenance program on all equipment and utilities.
● Ability to track packaging inventory as needed.
● Perform other duties as assigned qualifications
● Experience with Canning lines and Ancillary equipment a plus
● The ability to be flexible and handle multiple tasks in a high stress environment
● Mechanical aptitude and technical abilities are a plus
● Excellent verbal communication skills
● Ability to operate according to established procedures
● Detail oriented with superior organizational and time management skills
● The candidate must be able to stand for extended periods of time, reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
● The position also requires that the candidate move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds with or without assistance
This position reports to Director of Operations and packaging manager and has responsibility for contributing to the day-to-day operations of the Packaging Department as well as keeping up with other daily objectives of the production team. This is an entry level position with significant growth potential within the department and outside of the packaging department.
