Job Position: Packaging Manager and Maintenance Lead

Barrel Brothers Brewing Company is a production-scale craft brewery and distillery in the town of Windsor CA Founded in 2015. Barrel Brothers is an innovation-focused company that prides itself on its quick “innovation-to-customer product cycles.” A dynamic and flexible beverage brand rooted in the stability of the local craft beer industry, utilizing unique industry equipment. Barrel Brothers has broadened its focus to pursue other product channels beyond conventional craft beer, particularly in the craft non-alcoholic (NA), ready-to-drink cocktail (RTD) and spirits space. Barrel Brothers looks to add new production and retail infrastructure in 2022.
Responsibilities
This position has responsibility for managing the day-to-day operations of the Packaging Department as well as other strategic objectives of the Production Department.
This person will be the lead canning line operator until new technicians are trained.
Oversees all employees operating in the packaging department and is responsible for the equipment maintenance and function
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all packaging employees adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Creates staffing schedules for the packaging department and manages staffing levels to meet production requirements
Ensure product quality meets company requirements
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in packaging beer for storage or shipment
Maintain targeted production efficiency for the production lines
Manage continuous improvement efforts in Packaging Department
Trains staff in safe operation of equipment
Develops and maintains SOPs for safety, and ensures all record keeping, SOPs, and logs are accurate and up to date
Responsible for keeping brewery equipment running to its full potential with a minimum amount of downtime.
Performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on all equipment.
Develops a preventative maintenance program on all equipment and utilities.
Ability to accurately diagnose the source of failures and make emergency repairs to all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic systems as needed to return systems to service and minimize production downtime.
Skilled in application and use of mechanical tools, hand tools, power tools. Machine shop and Fabrication skills a plus
Perform daily inspection of all brewery support utilities and equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
